THE AMERICAN INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL OF NIAMEY IS LOCATED IN NIGER, WEST AFRICA REPRESENTING 19 DIFFERENT NATIONALITIES, MAKING OUR SCHOOL TRULY INTERNATIONAL.

The American International School of Niamey is a non-profit, tuition-based, coeducational private international day school, which strives to provide an outstanding, enriched American education for its students following the AERO standards. AISN provides an exciting and caring learning environment where challenging curriculum coupled with a low student-teacher ratio fosters close, supportive relationships. AISN serves students in pre-kindergarten through twelfth grade.

Our mission, philosophy and goals lead teachers to plan and teach a rich, internationally-minded curriculum to a diverse student population using materials and employing teaching strategies representative of the best educational practices existing in the United States.

Classes are organized into multi-grade groups and class size is small. We seek to provide the best education possible for each student and are developing a rich professional learning community with learning at the heart of our practice. Our staff, parents, and community members strive to excite students about life and learning.

Where We Excel

The American International School of Niamey has provided a quality American educational program for its students since 1982. The school has continually striven to improve its performance in all facets of operation. Of special note are three areas where AISN’s commitment to quality education continues to be particularly strong: Community-based education, a cooperative learning atmosphere, and its after-school activities program.

Enrollment

Our enrollment is consistently between 70 - 100 students representing 19 different countries. Students are grouped together in multi-age classrooms as follows: PK, Kindergarden/Grade 1, Grades 2/3, Grade 4/5, Grades 6/7, Grade 8/9 and High School which includes Grades 10-12. The international and multicultural makeup of the AISN student body is a wonderful asset for the school. The AISN staff has dedicated itself to providing optimal learning opportunities that take into account our diverse population. Class sizes at AISN are small, allowing for a close and attentive teacher-student relationship

Accreditation & Memberships

AISN is fully accredited PK - Grade 12 by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools and is a full member of the Association of International Schools in Africa.
